“Few things under heaven are as instructive as the lessons of Silence.” Tao Te Ching
Class 3 of 7 in our Water-themed practice to honour the Winter season. The focus continues with the health and vitality of our primary Water organs, the Kidneys – our energy storehouses – and now extends to our sense of hearing and capacity to listen. We begin with our Qigong warm-ups to release stagnation in the tissues and joints, invigorate our whole body, while rooting our feet (KI1) and stimulating our kidneys – this time through the “Water-Healing Sound”. A couple of practices from the "8-Brocades" as well as “Scooping the Water” qigong further enhance the benefits to our Foundation Energy that is Water. As usual, we flow through vinyasas with longer-held standing poses for greater overall strength and flexibility to cultivate strong, healthy Qi – all while making use of Ujjayi or Ocean Breathing. As always, our class finishes with a restorative Savasana to fully integrate our practice into our bodies and minds and briefly rest on our right side with a cupped hand to listen more deeply inwards.
