This Spring-themed, Taoist-inspired class is designed to nourish the body, mind and spirit while rejuvenating Elemental Wood, both within ourselves and in the world around us. We begin each class with ~45 minutes of gentle Qigong to release stagnant energy, invigorate the body, and bring calm-focus to the mind. For the remainder of the class, restorative yoga poses are comfortably held for longer periods to support energy and transformation on a more subtle level. Additionally, props are used to relax, restore, and heal the body while stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system. This class is suitable for all levels of experience and is great for anyone looking to slow down, relieve stress, and foster deeper levels of healing – basically everyone!
Wear comfortable, warm clothing, and assemble as many props as you have available. The following props will be used in all restorative yoga classes and may be substituted with other readily available items from home: a pair of blocks, a bolster, a folded blanket, and a strap. A chair and some free wall space may also be useful.
