At the end of the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna says to Arjuna, “Let go. Don’t cling to the fruits of your actions. Live your life and be unattached to what happens. Do this and you will find real freedom.”
The 7th and final instalment of our Water-themed yoga and qigong to honour the Winter season summarizes and consolidates our last few weeks of practice. With a continued focus on the health and vitality of our primary Water organs, the Kidneys, and extends out through our entire KI meridian from KI1 to KI27. As usual, we begin with Qigong warm-ups to release stagnation in the tissues and joints, invigorate our whole body, stimulate our kidneys, and shake deep into our bones (our Water tissues). Add to this our Ragdoll Toss to emphasize the “wringing out and refreshing” of our Kidney meridian and a few rounds of Showering Qi qigong. The second half has us gently stretching & opening our bodies - first using the chair as a prop, and then in some key restorative poses to reinforce and deepen our work. Our class finishes with a restorative Viparita Karani to help send deep Yin breaths into our lower Dantian and some of it's key points (Hui Yin, Ming Men, etc).
