"There is no intelligence required for healing. To heal, we don't need to be intelligent, good, or deserving. Healing is pure grace. To heal, we need honesty and to be true to ourselves. We need to be able to admit that we have feelings we wish we didn't have. We need to own these feelings in order to outgrow them and mature as human beings." ~Gilles Marin
Class 7 is our final instalment of Fall-Metal practice and is focused on the healing power of conscious breathing, feeling, and letting go - through the network of our skin and fascia. It begins with our Qigong warm-ups to release stagnation in the tissues and joints, invigorate our whole body, while opening our lungs and stretching our metal meridians. We'll practice some seated pranayama and then Flying Phoenix qigong to expand our capacity for feeling and breathing. As usual, we flow through vinyasas with longer-held standing poses for greater overall strength and flexibility while cultivating strong, healthy Qi. Our practice finishes with a restorative Savasana with hollow breathing to fully integrate our practice into our bodies and minds.
